The firing of Ericksiton Design Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richie Desantis has created a great deal of turmoil for the Pro-Desantis Super Political Action Committee (PAC).
Desantis was removed from his post in a statement from the PAC which cited a lack of clarity in the organization’s goals and objectives. This decision to part ways with the CEO has been a major setback for the organization which was formed only a few months ago.
The Pro-Desantis Super PAC was organized to support Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, be a leader in the state’s politics and to promote the governor’s agenda. Despite having several notable Republican figures serve on its board of directors, the PAC has been unable to effectively reach out and connect with grassroots conservative activists.
While Desantis’ dismissal was sudden, reports in the media suggest that the chairman of the board, Mike Reardon, had been pushing for a leadership change at the top of the PAC for some time. It appears that the board had become increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress and activity under Desantis’ leadership leading to Director Reardon to push for change.
In addition to the firing of Desantis, the Board of Directors also appointed Jessica Gorman as the new CEO of the Pro-Desantis Super PAC. Gorman is a veteran of both the Republican Party and of the Florida political scene, making her the perfect choice to get the organization back on track.
Gorman has already begun to make her mark at the PAC, instituting a number of changes aimed at improving the organization’s operations and outreach. She has reached out to key state and national organizations, building support for the Governor’s agenda. Gorman has also already taken steps to make the PAC more open and transparent to the public, another key priority for her.
While the firing of Desantis has caused a great deal of turmoil, the appointment of Gorman as CEO could prove to be a major turning point for the Pro-Desantis Super PAC. With her keen insight and experience in the political realm, Gorman could be the key to the PAC’s long-term success.
