The Canadian stock exchange (TSXV) has been a major beneficiary of the recent increase in investor confidence. Over the past week, five TSXV stocks have seen substantial growth as investors seek out potential stocks for big returns. Leading the pack is Rio2 Ltd (TSXV: RIO); the stock rose by nearly 20% after news of approval for its Fenix gold project from the Chilean Environmental Impact Assessment office.
Rio2 is a Canadian gold exploration and development company which has been focused on developing the Fenix gold project since 2014. The project is located in the Atacama region in northern Chile and is estimated to have over 3.1 million ounces of gold. The positive news has certainly helped the stock, with RIO up 3.10 to close at $0.71 on Thursday.
In second place is Abacus Mining & Exploration Corp. (TSXV:AME). The junior Canadian mining company is focused in the prolific Copper Mountain Mining region in southern British Columbia, where it is currently assessing its silver-zinc-lead project. Last week, AME saw its stock price increase by around 10.9%, closing at $0.38 on Thursday.
Third on the list is Graphene Energy Solutions Inc. (TSXV:GRPE). The energy technology company saw its stock price jump by 9.4% over the past week, closing at $0.06 on Thursday. The surge of investor confidence came after the company received a $1.5 million grant from the Canadian government to develop its cellulosic ethanol technology.
Not far behind in fourth place is Kurcota Metals Corp. (TSXV:KRC). The company boasts the largest land package in the mining-rich Yukon territory, where it is actively exploring for gold resources. The stock saw a 4.4% increase last week, closing at $0.25 on Thursday.
Last but not least is Calibre Mining Corp. (TSXV:CXB). The share price of the precious metals producer rose by 3.6% over the past week, closing at $1.46 on Thursday. Calibre has been busy advancing its two gold projects in Nicaragua, and with the positive news investors are obviously impressed.
It looks like the TSXV is in full swing with a lot of positive momentum from investors, but as we all know, markets can be volatile and unpredictable. With the right research and careful consideration, investors may be able to find the stocks that will reap the biggest rewards.
