Woods Resources Inc (WRI) is an exploration and development company focused on the development of its Alkali Flat Lithium Brine Project (AFBLP) located in Lancaster, Nevada. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WRI, Jeffrey T. Woods, recently issued a comprehensive update on the current state of the AFBLP project, as well as the future plans for the project.
With the most recent indications of a growing global demand in advanced energy storage technologies, WRI has set its sights on strategic investments to ensure an efficient and cost-effective solution to the lithium mineral resources demand. Mr. Woods commented that access to these high grade lithium resources is key to WRI’s continued success and that is why the company continues to invest time and resources into the AFBLP project.
The AFBLP project is a two-stage project, with the first stage being the establishment of a hyddodrygene production unit, followed by a lithium-bearing brine extraction system. WRI has already successfully established the first unit and is now actively engaging with technology partners to develop the brine extraction system.
For the second stage of the AFBLP project, WRI has entered into an agreement with a major lithium processing company to process the brine and produce battery grade spodumene. The plant is expected to have a capacity to produce up to 3,000 tonnes of premium grade spodumene per month.
The final stage of the AFBLP project will involve the construction of a battery-grade fractionation plant to convert the lithia-bearing brine procurement into lithium-ion batteries. WRI hopes that by having access to top quality lithium resources, the company can be at the helm of the global energy storage market.
Through all this, Mr. Woods emphasizes the importance of continuing to work with local state and federal government to meet all regulatory and environmental requirements, and employ the environmentally responsible measures in all stages of the AFBLP project. Additionally, Mr. Woods assured the community that WRI is actively seeking out local employment opportunities to employ as many locals to work on the AFBL project as possible.
With the AFBLP continuing to progress smoothly, WRI has become a key player in the global lithium market. We look forward to seeing what Mr. Woods and WRI have in store for the future of the land and its surrounding environment.
