Alx Resources Corp. (“Alx” or the “Company”) (TSXV: ALX) is pleased to announce that it has completed a field program at its McKenzie Lake Uranium Project (“Project”) located near Kelowna, British Columbia. The program was designed to advance the Project towards the completion of a Preliminary Economic Assessment with the ultimate goal of establishing uranium resources at the Project.
The work completed at the Project included geological mapping, prospecting, soil and bedrock sampling and limited diamond drilling. A total of 313 bedrock samples were collected, as well as 12 drill core samples which were collected along a two kilometer strike length of the 5 kilometer long soil anomaly on the property.
The results of the prospecting program were interpreted to indicate the presence of two mineralized zones. The first is a 3 kilometer long corridor now known as “Zone 1” which hosts strongly anomalous uranium values and coincident alaskite overburden. At its southwestern end, Zone 1 is intersected by a strong regional fault that appears to be widening or possibly even branching due to the presence of uranium mineralization (“Zone 2”) located near the fault. Alx has now identified a total of 5 different uranium occurrences associated with Zone 1 and Zone 2.
The Company’s exploration results, combined with historical results from a previous operator and the coincident surface and subsurface geophysical anomalies, indicate the potential for the presence of a mineralized, structurally controlled planting system at the Project.
Alx plans to continue advancing the Project towards a resource estimate and potential development through additional exploration and metallurgical testing. With the knowledge gained so far and the support of Canada’s leading research institutions, Alx believes that an effective and comprehensive exploration program will enable the Company to unlock the Project’s untapped potential.
