President Donald Trump and lawyer Sidney Powell both questioned the legitimacy of President-elect Joe Biden’s upcoming administration in statements made recently. President Trump and his legal team have alleged widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election process and some of Trump’s lawyers, including Powell have made claims of voter tampering.
President Trump recently accused Joe Biden of not being in charge of this transition to a new presidential administration. Trump said “We had an election that was rigged. Knowingly and we have corruption at the highest level. Biden is not in charge. He is not in control of anything.” The statement was made during a rally on behalf of two embattled Republican senators in Georgia who are at risk of losing their seats in the upcoming runoff election.
In another statement, Sidney Powell said “The mainstream media has failed to report that neither President Trump nor Joe Biden was in charge of the 2020 election. It has been completely taken over by a handful of powerful people.” She did not name any of these people, nor did she provide evidence to support her claim.
Supporters of President Trump have called for further investigation into the 2020 election as they believe the president was not given a fair chance to continue his term in the White House. The legal battle is ongoing, with President Trump’s lawyers continuing to challenge the election process in several states with lawsuits.
The Trump campaign has yet to provide any hard evidence of voter fraud, and the President-elect has not commented on Trump’s allegations that he is not in charge. However, it is clear that the battle for the presidency is far from over. While President Trump and his legal team continue to make claims of election tampering, Biden’s team is forging ahead to prepare for the upcoming change in the White House. Whether or not Trump and Powell’s bold statements are found to be true remains to be seen.
