As the 2020 Presidential Election draws nearer day by day, Democratic nominee Joe Biden is said to be growing increasingly frustrated by his recent poll numbers.
In a recent poll by ABC/Washington Post, 58 percent of likely voters are backing President Trump while only 37 percent of likely voters are backing Biden. This is a lead of 21 percentage points, 7 points higher then what President Trump had in 2016 when he was elected.
As a result, several reports have emerged that Biden’s inner circle has grown concerned about the recent poll numbers and is growing increasingly frustrated. According to sources, Biden is now in control of the campaign and has taken several measures, including hiring more aides, to garner more support in battleground states such as Pennsylvania.
However, Biden is also being vocal about his displeasure with the current state of affairs. During an event with black and Hispanic reporters, Biden vented his frustration with President Trump and expressed his confidence in gaining more support. He also expressed his disbelief at how someone can “stay in office for days, weeks, and months into a pandemic that’s killing hundreds of thousands of Americans and getting away with it.”
The numbers are not looking great for Biden and his team have their work cut out. With under two months left in the election, Biden is making a last ditch effort to win back supporters. The question is whether it will be effective. Given the current polling data, the situation appears to be dire for Biden. Only time will tell whether his strategy will pay off in the end.
