“Over 300K Air Fryers Scorch Risks – Walmart, Target and Kohl’s Issue Recall!

More than 300,000 air fryers sold at Walmart, Target, and Kohl’s have been recalled for a burn hazard. The air fryers, manufactured by Gourmia, pose a risk to consumers due to possible electrical shock or fire hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a voluntary recall for the air fryers after receiving reports of burn hazards. Gourmia voluntarily recalled the affected products due to reports of consumers receiving electrical shocks or experiencing electrical arcing. This could lead to a possible fire or product failure. Although no injuries have been reported so far, the CPSC is urging consumers to stop using the affected product and return it for a full refund. The recalled air fryers are model GCM4700 and they have a control panel with selectable cooking settings. The recalled air fryers were sold at Walmart, Target, and Kohl’s stores from March 2019 through June 2021. They are black and range in size, from 7.3 to 16.7 quarts. They also have clear lids with a detachable handle and a stainless steel heating element. Approximately 300,000 of the air fryers have been sold so far. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and contact Gourmia for a full refund.
