UAW Membership Approves Historic 4½ Year Contract With Detroit’s Big Three Auto workers in Detroit have ratified the historic 4½ year contract between the United Auto Workers (UAW) and Ford, GM and Fiat Chrysler, an agreement that signify the first major labor agreement between the union and the companies in years. The agreement, reached after ten months of negotiations, came on the heels of the UAW’s strike against GM in September of last year.
