“Veteran CEO Tim Wentworth Steers the Ship at Walgreens!

Walgreens has named Tim Wentworth, a 15-year veteran of the healthcare sector, as its next chief executive officer. The news was announced on Friday, with Wentworth succeeding interim CEO, Kermit Crawford, who had served since 2013. Wentworth has a long track record of driving innovation, growth and strategic transformation across the healthcare sector. He most recently served as president of Express Scripts Holding Company, the nation’s largest pharmacy benefit manager, and brings with him extensive experience and relationships in the industry. At Express Scripts, Wentworth led the organization’s e-commerce concept, the PillPack acquisition – a premier online pharmacy and service tailored to customers’ personal health needs – and the expansion of the company’s digital capabilities, which increased focus on customer experience. Wentworth also spearheaded a “Consumerology” platform at Express Scripts, which uses real-time consumer data, analytics and predictive technologies to tailor the healthcare customer experience. As the new CEO of Walgreens, Wentworth will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company and leading the next phase of its evolution, including accelerating the company’s innovative growth and customer-centricity. While leading Express Scripts, Wentworth was named one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 most influential executives in 2016. He was also featured as one of Consulting Magazine’s “50 Most Influential Consultants in 2017” and among the “10 Most Impactful Thought Leaders in the Life Sciences Industry”.
