The city of Nashua, New Hampshire is preparing to quadruple its chipmaking capability in order to better suit the needs of the US Air Force’s fighter jet program. This increased production capacity is being implemented with the help of New Hampshire’s chip-manufacturing facility, Curzio Chip Incorporated (CCI).
With the new additions, CCI will be able to produce almost four times as many microchips used for fighter jet components. The main goal behind this initiative is to ensure that the US Air Force can always have the technological resources necessary to keep its aircrafts up-to-date and safe.
CCI’s knowledge and experience working with sensitive and high performance semiconductors are crucial to the Air Force’s success. Its chip production techniques already meet the needs of both civilian and military programs, and now its output is expected to increase accordingly.
The company plans to install hyper-modern chip-making equipment at one of its production sites, and the other component plants are being geared up to accept concurrent tasks from this same facility. The executive management of CCI states that this amplified production rate will not only benefit the Air Force, but will also bring about job openings and support the local economy.
